Burnt Rock Technologies Ltd is led by Patrick Brunelle. Dr. Brunelle’s passion is chemistry. He has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Calgary and over 10 years’ experience developing new technologies for the upstream and downstream oil and gas technologies, and for various other industrial applications. Dr. Brunelle was Chief Technology Officer for Optimal Resources where he developed a novel enhanced oil recovery technology. As Chief Technology Officer for Quadrise Canada, Dr. Brunelle developed advanced emulsion fuel processes and technology and a novel lost circulation drilling fluid additive (sold to Secure Energy Services in 2013). More recently, Dr. Brunelle was managing the completions lab and new technologies for Secure Energy Services. In 2016, Dr. Brunelle founded Burnt Rock Technologies Ltd to focus on the application of chemistry in industry. More detailed information on Dr. Brunelle is available on his LinkedIn profile.
